Tonight at the National Theater in Mostar, the 22nd edition of the International Comedy Festival "Mostarska Liska" began with the premiere performance of the play "Fairytale about the Theater" by Vladimir Đurđević, directed by Ferid Karajica, produced by the National Theater in Mostar. The director of the National Theater in Mostar, Emir Spahić, welcomed the audience.
"Theorists say, whatever that means, that comedy is a light genre. Okay, we'll agree with them, but besides being a light genre, it's the only way, or rather, the only genre that best depicts the time and space we live in. Famous comedians have taught us that what we laugh at the most is actually the biggest wound of our existence. We are facing the 22nd edition of the festival, which has established itself to the greatest extent in
region, and we had a significant number of applications this year as well. I believe that the selector chose the 7 best productions from the region and that we will take away a positive experience from this year's edition of the festival", said Spahić.
The festival was officially declared open by the chairman of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Assembly, Džafer Alić.
“The 'Mostarska liska' festival has been reminding us for years that laughter is not a way to escape reality, but a way to understand it better. In a time when we need smiles, dialogue and human closeness more than ever, this festival brings us together and reminds us of the power that art, and especially comedy, has to bring us together.”
unite, inspire and heal. It is important to recall the invaluable role of the National Theater in Mostar - an institution that has been preserving and developing the cultural life of this city for years. As the host of the festival, but also as a symbol of perseverance, openness and creative energy, this theater represents a pillar of artistic expression
in Herzegovina," Alić emphasized.
The expert jury, which this year consists of Admir Glamočak, Jelena Kordić Kuret and Tanja Miletić Oručevć, awarded the Mala liska – award for best actress of the evening to Amela Kreso, while the Mala liska – award for best actor of the evening was awarded to Saša Oručević.
