Mostar majorettes celebrate 30 years

Mostar majorettes celebrate 30 years of activity with a festive celebration and thank the city that is part of their story

In an atmosphere of emotion, pride and numerous memories, the Mostar Majorettes celebrated their 30th anniversary of existence and activity on Sunday, June 14, 2026, in the packed hall of the Croatian Home Herceg Stjepan Kosača. It was an evening dedicated to the people, togetherness and values that this collective has been building for three decades, but above all, gratitude to the city of Mostar and all its citizens who have been a part of their story over the years.

The celebration was conceived as a kind of birthday gift to the city of Mostar – the city where the Mostar Majorettes were born, grew up and became one of its recognizable symbols. Through a rich program, performances and emotional moments, the audience had the opportunity to remember a journey that has lasted for 30 years – a journey marked by dedicated work, raising generations of young girls, numerous performances, travels, recognitions and indelible memories.

A special place in this story belongs to the leader of the Mostar Majorettes, Anja Puhalo Nikolić, who, with her work, energy, vision and dedication, has made a strong contribution to the development and continuity of the club's work. Over the years, together with generations of members, she has built not only a successful collective but also a community that nurtures the values of discipline, responsibility, mutual respect and belonging.

During the evening, words of gratitude were expressed to all those who have woven a part of themselves into the story of the Mostar Majorettes over the years. Special mention was made of the coaches who passed on knowledge, experience and love for majorette dance to generations of members and who, with their work, left a lasting mark on the development of the society. Their role was not only sporting or artistic – for years they were mentors, a support and an important part of the growth of numerous girls.

Thanks are also extended to everyone who has faithfully followed and supported the work of the Mostar Majorettes for years – parents, friends, associates, members of the organizational team and everyone who, often far from the spotlight, has enabled the club to grow and last with their involvement.

As part of the celebration, special recognition was also given to the previous presidents and current club leaders, who at different times took on responsibility and made decisions important for the development and stability of the Mostar Majorettes. Their contribution remains an important part of the identity and continuity of the club's work.

With special gratitude, the Mostar Majorettes also remembered all the representatives of social, cultural and political life who over the years recognized the value of their work and stood by them - supporting projects, opening space for development and contributing to the continuation of this story today.

The evening at the Croatian Home of Herceg Stjepan Kosača brought together current and former members, their families, friends, associates and numerous citizens who together marked an anniversary that goes beyond an organization. Because over the course of 30 years, the Mostar Majorettes have not only become a collective – they have become a place of growth, friendship, togetherness and memories that connect generations.

The program featured all the teams of Mostar majorettes, from the youngest to the oldest, with performances that marked this season. The program was given special value by the performance of the very generation with which it all began back in 1995 – then girls, and today mothers who continue to tirelessly spread their love for majorette dance. Through a kind of dance time machine, other older generations of members were also presented, and the joint performance showed the development of majorette dance through time and different generations.

As befits any birthday celebration, in addition to the performances of the majorettes, the audience also enjoyed the performances of dear guests - soloist Antonija Batinić, accompanied by dance by Nina Šimić and members of the Mostar Majorettes, Croatian Music Mostar, majorettes from the Municipality of Dubrava from the Republic of Croatia, and the performance of the majorettes 60+ from the Association of Women Treated with Breast Cancer St. Margaret, also from the Municipality of Dubrava, with whom the Mostar Majorettes have been nurturing special cooperation and friendship for many years, was particularly enthusiastic.

By celebrating this great anniversary, the Mostar Majorettes have once again shown that success is not measured only by the years of existence, but by the people behind each story. And behind their story are generations of members, leaders, coaches, associates and citizens of Mostar, to whom this evening was dedicated.
