A collection of short stories (82 stories) about childhood spent in the war in the period from
August 1992 to May 1996 in Bosnia and Herzegovina. With this, as the author himself says, "he wanted to give
contribution to the culture of memory", so that young people from these areas would have the opportunity to read about historical
events from the recent past...
…“A boy at the age of eleven realizes how cruel war can be, and through his descriptions
It brings back, in detail, images of a stolen childhood to all of us, who witnessed that madness.
We, the children of that time whose outlines emerge from every written word, had to overnight
grow up. Petty school worries are replaced by worries about how to survive…”
Edisa Čolaković-Alajmović, prof.
…“Why is this manuscript valuable? Like similar readings (The Diary of Anne Frank), it is authentic
a depiction of one life in wartime circumstances. It can serve as an excellent addition to the historical one
reader, because it tells about the horrors of artillery attacks, deaths, injuries,
the loss of electricity, water, food, basic necessities, but also the reflections of such a situation
on the overall social life of the community..."
Adnan Hadžiabdić, prof.
