"I Want to Live" is a project inspired by the fates of refugee women with the aim of highlighting their qualities, abilities and desires by presenting their traumas to the community, so that we can experience them as equals to ourselves. Therefore, the concept of the performance implies cooperation and the creative process of work between professional artists and refugee women, in order to enable them, through their active involvement in joint work, to participate more equally in our community and communicate directly with us and the audience.
The performance "I want to live" is performed under the auspices of the project "Psychosocial support and assistance in individual protection for recognized refugees, asylum seekers and the refugee-like population in Bosnia and Herzegovina", which we are implementing with the support of the UNHCR Representative Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The script and direction of the performance is signed by Dubravka Zrnčić-Kulenović. It was shown to the Sarajevo audience for the first time as part of last year's "16 days of activism against gender-based violence" campaign. Thanks to the great interest of the audience, the performance was performed for the second time on the occasion of celebrating International Women's Day. The performances had a positive response, and resulted in a significant number of praises and positive comments, as well as the support of the media, theater workers, the academic community, people from public life and many others.
