“TORTURE AND HOPE” - LENT CONCERT FOR BARITONE AND PIANO

Mostar – April 8, 2025 – As part of the program of the Napredak Culture Week 2025,
today, Tuesday, April 8, 2025, starting at 7 p.m. Siniša Markanović, baritone,
and Bartolomej Stanković, piano will hold a classical music concert.
By carefully selecting the concert program, the artists combined the spirit of Lent with
classical music, so the program will include compositions inspired by
the Passion of Christ, while the selected piano works are inspired by
Petrarch's Sonnets, as well as Greek mythology.
The program includes works by composers Alessandro Stradella, Gabriel Faure, Ottorino
Respighi, Franz Liszt, Johann Sebastian Bach, and works by local composers
like Josip Hatze, Vilko Novak and Dario Vučić.
The concert will be held in the Queen Catherine Gallery at the Croatian House of Herceg
Stjepan Kosača.
