As part of the International Cultural Event "Mostar Summer 2026", the promotion of the poetry collection "Atlas of Small Ruins" by Aida Džiho Šator was held tonight at the Mostar National Library. In his opening remarks, the Director of the Mostar National Library, Omer Mičijević, emphasized the importance of supporting local authors and quality literary creation.
"The Mostar National Library, as one of the co-organizers of the 'Mostar Summer 2026' event, has decided to organize promotions of local authors this year, as in previous years. A few evenings ago, we had a promotion of Adnan Džolota's novel, and tonight we are promoting a collection of poetry by Aida Džiho Šator, with the aim of supporting the literary work of our authors."
"What makes me especially happy is the fact that in this general scribbling mania, there are still writers, especially poets, who read a lot and are stylistically savvy, which makes it a little easier for us to recognize what is truly valuable," Mičijević emphasized.
The author expressed her satisfaction that the first promotion of her collection was held at the Mostar National Library and as part of the "Mostar Summer" event.
"This is my first promotion within the 'Mostar Summer' and I am very glad that it was organized as part of this great Mostar event, as well as that it was organized in the Mostar National Library. The book was created over a long period of time. Some poems are inspired by earlier experiences, childhood and wartime childhood, while many are not autobiographical at all.
"The collection consists of poems that were created mainly over the last three to four years, so after my previous collection published in America three years ago, but among them there are also those that were written only twenty days ago," Džiho Šator pointed out.
In addition to the author, the book was discussed by Prof. Dr. Dijana Hadžizukić, Prof. Dr. Lejla Žujo-Marić, and writer Adnan Žetica.
