Last weekend, from August 1 to 3, 2025, the Mostar majorettes participated in the 23rd International Kotor Summer Carnival.
This year, the Mostar Majorettes are celebrating their 30th anniversary, which they celebrate with numerous trips, so it is not surprising that they chose the International Summer Kotor Carnival as one of them, given their long-standing friendship with the organizers – our dear friends, the Fešta Kotor Majorettes.
The Kotor Carnival is one of the most visited in the region. In addition to local groups, it also featured carnival groups from North Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy and Bosnia and Herzegovina - a total of 24 carnival groups.
On the first day, the carnival opened with a ceremonial opening, during which all the foreign groups paraded through the streets of the old town, presenting some of their masks, followed by a concert on the main town square. On the second day, the main program was held – a grand procession through the city center, where, along with an excellent program, all the carnival groups presented themselves to a large audience. The event ended with a grand carnival party on the main town square.
During the two days of the festival, the whole of Kotor was flooded with beautiful carnival energy and an unforgettable atmosphere, which was felt in every corner of this charming Montenegrin city.
The mask with which the Mostar majorettes presented themselves was "Madagascar - Dancing King Julian". In a cheerful and playful spirit, they embodied one of the most famous characters from the cartoon Madagascar, which delighted both children and adults. The atmosphere was fantastic - full of laughter, colorfulness and carnival magic, and our girls delighted both visitors and organizers.
They used their free time to explore the city and enjoy the charms of Kotor and the surrounding area.

After returning from Kotor, the girls – although still officially on summer vacation – have another interesting performance in store. They will be going to Sarajevo to attend the opening of the Festival in the Center event, marking the start of the Sarajevo Film Festival.
The new dance season for majorettes officially begins in early September, when registration for all new members will be announced.
