Hasanaginica

On Friday, February 13, 2026, the play will be performed on the Main Stage of the National Theater in Mostar. "Hasanaginica", based on the text of Mirza Begović, directed by Irfan Kasumović, starting at 8 p.m.

"For me, as the author of the dramatic text, it was more important to tell a story that we do not know, but can intuit, than the one we learned from the ballad itself and which leads us to the familiar tragic ending. Respecting the content, style and epoch of the ballad itself Hasanaginica, this text, and ultimately the play itself, also represents a questioning of political, social, class and sociological reality through examples that have been repeated for centuries in this region. This very often, even in the example of the Hasanaginice", brings with it sacrifices and suffering, and the last victim, at least in our case, is love itself," wrote author Mirza Begović about the play.

The cast consists of Adna Kaknjo, Irfan Kasumović, Faketa Salihbegović-Avdagić, Nusmir Muharemović, Emir Sejfić, Mirza Ćatibušić, Zerina Mujkić and Nermin Hodžić.

The play is a co-production project of the National Theatre in Mostar, the National Theatre in Tuzla and the Bosnian National Theatre in Zenica, while the project leader and producer is the BKC "Alija Izetbegović" Kalesija.

The ticket price is 10 KM, while the discounted price for pupils, students and pensioners is 5 KM.
