In the first week of this year's edition of the International Cultural Event "Mostar Summer", the audience can expect numerous interesting events.

Tonight, the traditional concert of the "Mostar Tamburitza Players" will be held on Braće Fejića Street, starting at 9 pm.
This musical ensemble, which consists of eight experienced musicians, operates within the Mostar Cultural Center. Their repertoire includes tamburitza and folk songs from various parts of the Balkans, as well as some original compositions.

On Thursday, July 3, a literary evening with Svetislav Basar will be held in Aleksa Šantić Park, starting at 9 p.m.
Svetislav Basara is the author of more than twenty books – novels, collections of short stories, plays and essays. He is a two-time winner of the Nino Award for the novels The Rise and Fall of Parkinson's Disease and Kontraendorphin; he is also the winner of the "Isidora Sekulić" Award, the Serbian Literary Society's "Biljana Jovanović" Award for the novel The Angel of Assassination and numerous other literary awards. He is the first recipient of a scholarship from the "Borislav Pekić" Fund for a manuscript in progress. He was the Ambassador of Serbia to Cyprus from 2001 to 2005. His plays have been performed on many stages, and his books have been translated into English, French, German, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Italian and Macedonian. The conversation with the writer will be led by Petar V. Arbutina.

That same evening (Thursday, July 3rd), a DJ Dance Party with Amir Groove will be held at the Pavarotti Music Center, starting at 10 p.m.
Amir Groove is a DJ, producer and radio host from Mostar who has established himself on the international electronic scene - especially in London, where he has been living and working for more than 20 years. He performed throughout Europe and Asia - in Serbia, Croatia, Spain, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Georgia and others. He releases EPs and compilations - the debut EP Likewise (DeepClass Records) in collaboration with Agent Matteo, then compilations for Nassau Beach Club and a release with Juan Belmonte (known for the song Maria Maria Santana) for Dance Hut.

On Friday, July 4, in the Memorial House of Svetozar Ćorović, organized by the Museum of Herzegovina Mostar, the photo exhibition Anarchy in the Photography by Faruk Kajtaz will be opened, starting at 9 p.m.
As the author of the exhibition himself points out, we live in a time in which we are exposed to the terror of images – nothing remains recorded without a pictorial trace. Due to the development of technology, images are becoming increasingly expressive in order to convey feelings, which forces people to daily browse posts “decorated” with photos on social networks. This is a time characterized by “selfie”, where personal successes are displayed daily, increasingly also through self-promotion. In such a “new culture”, the sense of intimacy – both personal and family – is lost, because more and more even the most intimate moments are shared via social networks.

Organized by the Museum of Herzegovina Mostar, a concert by the Trio Zerdelija will be held on Saturday, July 5th.
The concert starts at 9 pm in the Svetozar Ćorović Memorial House.
Zerdelija is a musical ensemble from Bosnia and Herzegovina (Mostar/Banja Luka) that performs traditional music of all the peoples of the Balkans. By covering folk songs in a new, modern way, they strive to authentically convey the timeless beauty of music from this region and its Slavic roots. Their songs evoke the spirit of the times and the customs of times gone by.

On Sunday, July 6, the play Mostar, City of Light will be performed on the stage of the Mostar Puppet Theatre, starting at 11 am.
The play was directed by David Zuazola, a Chilean director based in Spain. City of Light tells the story of a city, its distinctive values, and the light that its people carry within them – those who built it and were its greatest asset. But it also tells the story of those who tried and are trying to extinguish that light, destroying the city within it.
The play stars: Ali Kamer Aksoy, Lejla Pajić, Armin Filipović and Tarik Bajramović.

Organizers of the event are: Culture Center Mostar, National Theater Mostar, Museum of Herzegovina Mostar, National Library Mostar, Puppet Theater Mostar and Pavarotti Music Center.
The general sponsor of the event is the Government of the Croatian National Theatre, while the sponsors are the Croatian National Theatre Assembly, the City of Mostar, the Tourist Board of the City of Mostar, the Croatian National Theatre Tourist Board and the company BH Telecom.
