Saturday performance of the play "Guščar Matija" as part of the Night of Theatre of Bosnia and Herzegovina

After the extremely successful premiere of the play Guščar Matija, held on October 31st in the packed hall of the Mostar Puppet Theatre, the audience will soon have the opportunity to watch the first rerun.

The play will be performed in two parts – on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 6:00 PM, and on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM, when our theater also celebrates 73 years since the first performance – Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Saturday's performance will be part of a theatrical event European Theatre NightThe 2025 Bosnia and Herzegovina Theatre Night is a unique one-day event dedicated to the performing and performing arts, which will take place across the country.

Director's word:

When is the imagination at its richest? Right before bedtime! When it's time to go to bed, every child, as if their dreams weren't enough adventures, seeks out a little more play... in the shade, on a pillow, in a story!

So the story goes. To Matija Guščar becomes a lullaby – one that wakes up three children in the darkness of their bedroom and creates a whole new world that emerges from the space around them! The fair, geese, forests and castles – all of this comes to life before our eyes as we listen to the story of a boy named Matija, whose geese are stolen by a haughty master at the fair. And Matija's courage is punished with ten lashes!

Ten blows that the evil boss will remember well, because Matija decides to teach him a lesson! The story of justice, courage and ingenuity is an eternal theme – one that may not put us to sleep this time, but will certainly brighten our day and keep us entertained!
