CZECH THEATRE/THEATRE OF SPEYBL AND HURVINK IS A GUEST AT THE PUPPET THEATRE

MOSTAR

The Mostar Puppet Theatre will host one of the most famous puppet theatres in the world –
Spejbl and Hurvínek Theatre in Prague, a symbol of Czech cultural heritage and a carrier
prestigious UNESCO Intangible World Heritage designation. The theater will be presented with
he calls the puppet show "Musical Chat of Spejbl and Hurvink".
The puppets of Jozef Spejbl and his mischievous son Hurvínek, which have entertained generations
viewers since the early 1920s, this time they are coming on a Balkan tour, and among the cities
The hosts are Tuzla, Zenica, Sarajevo, Travnik and of course Mostar.
The play Musical Chat by Spejbl and Hurving on the program of the Puppet Theater Mostar biti
will be on Thursday, June 5, 2025, starting at 7 p.m.
The theater, founded in 1930 as the successor to the vision of the legendary professor Josef Skupa,
nurtures a puppetry tradition that skillfully combines humor, music and social satire – all through
the prism of the relationship between father and son, their everyday misunderstandings, but also their deep mutual
attachment.
For the needs of this tour, a special music and stage program in our language has been prepared,
which brought artists from Prague closer to the audience in the region not only through the universal language of puppetry and
music, but also through carefully practiced pronunciation and language adaptation.
"A particular challenge was to harmonize the pronunciation, the rhythm of the language and the specific humor that characterizes
Hurvínka, but it was precisely in that game and language transformation that we found the joy of meeting", he says
Hasan Zahirović, lector of the play and organizer of the Bosnian tour.
The program is tailored to the audience from the youngest to the oldest, and visitors can expect
a performance that is not bound by age, language or borders – because Spejbl and Hurvínek have been
centuries connecting the world through laughter, warmth and reflection.
The ticket price is 5 KM.
