"Sevdi Mustafa Band" was founded back in 2008 by the famous Mostar musician Mustafa Šantić.
This is a band that cherishes a love for the indigenous Bosnian and Herzegovinian folk song – the popular sevdalinka – but their musical orientation is much broader and extends from old-town hits to the sound of folk music from the 1970s.
The band's goal is not to create a new musical direction, but rather to use the way they play and interpret this type of music to take its fans back to a time when folk music, in terms of content, had a moderate and authentic expressive dimension.
The band members are experienced Bosnian and Herzegovinian musicians:
Ademir Dado Spahić (rhythm guitar),
Mustafa Kota Sokolović (bass guitar),
Samir Zavlan (keyboards),
Rifko Čamdžić (drums)
and, of course, Mustafa Šantić (accordion, vocals, clarinet).
The concert of the Sevdi Mustafa band will be held as part of the "Mostar Cultural Summer" event on Saturday, July 12, 2025, in the atrium of the Pavarotti Music Center, starting at 9:30 p.m.
Admission to the concert is free.
