On the occasion of World Accordion Day: On Thursday, May 8th at the Queen's Gallery

Mostar – May 4, 2025 – Organized by the HKD Napredak Main Branch Mostar,
on Thursday, May 8, 2025, starting at 7 p.m. at the Croatian House of Herceg
Stjepan Kosača will host a concert at the Queen Catherine Gallery, where
Accordionists Marko Plavčić and Ante Milić will perform.
Considering that it is an important day for every accordionist, a careful selection
a program has been designed for this artistic holiday of accordionists. It will be on the program
find original works and transcriptions for solo accordion and for accordion duo. Part One
concert will be dedicated to solo performances on the accordion, works by Astor Piazzolla and
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
The rest of the concert will feature works by composers Antonio Vivaldi, Karl Jenkins,
Georges Bizet, Mykola Rizola, Bogdan Precz and Bohuslav Martjanov for duo
accordion. Through music through styles and different characters, I hope we will succeed
to portray the accordion as an academic instrument with all its sonic and technical
possibilities.
By UNESCO's decision, May 6, 2009, was declared "World Day of
accordion – World accordion day”. The 180th anniversary of the birth of this
instrument.
