Announcement: The Ilija Orkić photography exhibition "People" will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at
The Gallery of Queen Katarina Kosača in the Croatian House of Herceg Stjepan Kosača with
starting at 7 p.m.
The exhibition is a retrospective of photographs taken over the past thirty years. The author is
selected about forty photographs from his previous work. The format is 50×70 cm. These are pictures
our everyday lives: playful children, elderly people in their daily lives.
The author wants to convey a message through photography and captured emotions. There are a few more besides
photographs that are documentary in nature and also testify to the time and place of their creation.
There are about twenty more paintings in various techniques by freelance artist Goran Bačić,
who is a guest at the exhibition. The exhibition was already set up in Odžak throughout July and August of this year
years in a slightly different lineup.
Author Ilija Orkić was born in 1969 in Vidovice – Bosanska Posavina. He graduated
theologian. He is now the pastor in Odžak. In addition to his pastoral duties, he is involved in journalism. He has published
several books on historical topics and one collection of poems. He participated in the creation of several
book as an editor or contributor.
He had five solo photography exhibitions: Camino – Pilgrimage to Santiago de
Campostela; Pope Francis at the Archdiocesan Center for Youth Ministry in 2015;
Flood of 2014 – a major flood in Posavina in 2014; Vidovice in the post-war period and
People in 2025.
Exhibition guest Goran Bačić was born in 1959 in Vojvodina, and has lived in
Odžak. He finished high school in Odžak, got a job and started his family. Participant
was a member of the Homeland War. He was wounded in the war. Retired. He is still involved in caricature, he worked for
Radio station Odžak as a contributor to the religious program.
The exhibition remains open until October 21, 2025.
