The international cultural event "Mostar Summer 2026" was officially closed tonight at Musala Square with the program "Let's Dance Through Time", which brought together numerous citizens and guests of the City of Mostar with a combination of folklore and contemporary dance. The event was officially closed by the Minister of Finance of the Herzegovina-Neretva County, Adil Šuta, who expressed satisfaction with the successful implementation of this year's program.
"I hope you enjoyed the program of this year's 'Mostar Summer'. I recently visited Bratislava and had the opportunity to attend their summer event. I can say with pleasure that the 'Mostar Summer' is a higher quality event than the one I attended there, even though it is the capital of the country that has significantly greater resources. We can thank the hardworking people who have worked dedicatedly and responsibly in the past period to offer the citizens and guests of Mostar a rich and diverse cultural program," said Šuta.
He expressed special gratitude to the event coordinator, Nataša Jekić, who coordinated all the event's contents with great enthusiasm, care and dedication, emphasizing that the energy, dedication and enthusiasm of the people behind the organization are the key to the success of this cultural event.
"I think that only people who have energy, value, knowledge and desire can do things like this. Mostar needs positive things, as does the whole of Herzegovina and our county. This year, as in previous years, the Government of the Herzegovina-Neretva County supported the 'Mostar Summer', as well as other significant cultural events, because we believe that culture is an important part of the development of our community. I hope that we will continue this successful cooperation next year," concluded Šuta.
The audience enjoyed the performances of the Mo-Stars Dance Studio, Bijelo Polje Cultural and Artistic Association, Blagaj Cultural and Artistic Association, Podveležje Cultural and Artistic Association, Jablanica Cultural and Artistic Association, and Nakem Cultural and Artistic Association from Bursa in the Republic of Turkey, whose performances uniquely presented the wealth of traditional cultural heritage and contemporary dance expression.
At the same time, the 12th edition of the guitar festival "On the Road to the South" was completed at the Pavarotti Music Center, where the audience first enjoyed the screening of the documentary film "Grandpa Guru", dedicated to the cult band Kultur Shock and its frontman Srđan Gina Jevđević. The festival was closed with the concerts of the band "Violetta Peppermint" from Rijeka and the band "Koi Koi" from Belgrade, which successfully brought the 12th edition of the guitar festival "Na putu za jug" to an end.
This year's edition of the "Mostar Summer" once again confirmed the significance of this event as one of the most important cultural events in Mostar, bringing together numerous artists, cultural workers and the public through a diverse program that enriched the cultural life of the city during the summer.
Although tonight's program officially closed this year's edition of the International Cultural Event "Mostar Summer 2026", the audience can expect another event as part of the accompanying program. Namely, the Red Night, organized by FK Velež, which was previously postponed due to the tragic event, will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, August 4, on the plateau below the Old Bridge, starting at 8 p.m.
The organizers of the "Summer of Mostar" are the Center for Culture Mostar, the National Theater in Mostar, the Museum of Herzegovina Mostar, the National Library Mostar, the Puppet Theater in Mostar and the Pavarotti Music Center, in partnership with the Yunus Emre Institute Mostar and OKC Abrašević.
The event is sponsored by the Government of the HNŽ, the City of Mostar, the City Council of the City of Mostar, the Tourist Board of the Herzegovina-Neretva County and the Tourist Board of the City of Mostar. Media sponsors are mostarski.ba and Radio Gradska mreža.
