Behind the Mostar Puppet Theatre is another extremely successful and creative season 2025/2026, filled with premieres, guest appearances at numerous festivals and a multitude of performances, both in our hall and in halls, squares, schools and parks throughout BiH.
Our ensemble continued its mission of bringing puppetry to children of all ages, while continuing to win numerous awards at prominent festivals across the region.
We are especially proud of the fact that our entire work has been equally recognized by both the youngest viewers and the expert juries of numerous domestic and regional festivals in which we have participated.
We would especially like to highlight our multiple award-winning performance Utopia directed by Vanja Jovanović, who delighted the expert juries at the 58th International Puppet Theatre Festival PIF 2025, the International Theatre Festival for Children and Youth "Smile Niša 2025" and the 13th Bugojno Puppet Biennial.
All the awards won for the show so far Utopia They are special because of the fact that with this show we pushed the boundaries of puppetry and showed that puppetry has no age limits.
We would also like to mention the success of our show The conceited ladybug directed by Siniša Novković, which, through a specific directorial approach, speaks about the important theme of true friendship and fundamental human values. The play won three awards at the 26th and 27th International Festival of Professional Puppet Theaters for Children "Lut Fest 2026" in East Sarajevo.
In addition to the awards and guest appearances, we have also successfully achieved two premieres, which have refreshed our repertoire, to the delight of the youngest. These are the plays Guščar Matija directed by Ivan Kristijan Majić and Grgur Grgić and Just blow the horn. directed by Maja Martinek.
What gives us motivation and an uncompromising desire to work and create are children's eyes and smiles during performances, thanks to which their childhood becomes richer, happier, fairer and more beautiful.
We are looking forward to the next season, new performances and the audience without which our work would not make sense.
