As part of the manifestation "Guardians of Tradition", which is held under the auspices of the City of Mostar and
The City Council of the City of Mostar is celebrating two significant anniversaries – the twentieth
anniversary of the inscription of the Old Bridge and its surroundings on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and the twentieth
and the first anniversary of the restoration of this symbol of Mostar.
On this occasion, a central ceremony was held on the plateau in front of the Old Bridge - a concert by the Divanhana group.
The aim of the event is to remind people of the importance of preserving our tradition and heritage, and to point out the importance of the Old Town.

It's been twenty years since the Old Bridge became a symbol not only of the city, but also of connection, resistance, beauty and spirit.

The program began with a performance of songs by the Mostar Rains ensemble, which, imbued with love for the city,
symbolically highlighted the connection between Mostar and the people of Mostar - through verse, melody and emotion. After that he followed
concert of the group Divanhana, which gathered a large number of interested citizens of Mostar.

The Old Bridge was renovated and officially opened on July 23, 2004, after several years of technical
demanding, but symbolically even more significant process. Its renovation, although technically architecturally
undertaking, was a common mission and need of all people, our and foreign experts. The works were conducted with
with incredible precision, stone from the original Mukoša quarry was used, and every element
it was reconstructed on the basis of historical documents.
This effort, commitment and dedication were crowned on July 15, 2005 in Durban, when the Old Bridge
together with the old city center, it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It was
the first such entry for Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Old Bridge is a beacon of togetherness. It connects – people, shores,
traditions.
This event highlights the contribution of the City of Mostar and the City Council, led by the President.
