THE MOSTAR PUPPET THEATRE ENSEMBLE PARTICIPATED IN THE JUBILEE
30.SLUK, THE MEETING OF PUPPETS AND PUPPET THEATRES OF CROATIA
Recognition to Jadranka Popović-Miljko for her many years of work in puppetry
The Mostar Puppet Theatre Ensemble participated in the jubilee festival from 4-6 June 2025.
The 30th Meeting of Puppeteers and Puppet Theatres of Croatia, the most prestigious puppet festival in
Republic of Croatia which took place from June 2nd to 5th, and the City of Osijek and the Children's Theatre
Branko Mihaljević hosted this competition this year.
Ten plays were included in this year's SLUK, and viewers could watch them in
Children's Theatre, Croatian National Theatre and Franjo Krežma Hall.
The Mostar Puppet Theatre presented itself at this festival in the accompanying program with
with the multiple award-winning play Utopia by director Vanja Jovanović, which has made its
premiered in February 2024 and has already won the hearts of the audience and
adults. The play stars: Marta Haubrich, Ivan Nevjestić, Jadranka Popović-Miljko and Tibor
Walnut.
The play Utopia is about the beauty and importance of art. The center of the story is the thesis that
art is an integral part of life and how without art we cannot fully build ourselves.
We are extremely honored to be part of this prestigious festival again this year, and we are especially
happy that our champion Jadranka Popović-Miljko received recognition for her many years of work in
puppetry.
As part of SLUK, an exhibition of dolls "From thread to bell" was held by the Creative Department
technologies of the Academy of Arts and Culture, and an exhibition of scenographies and puppets from history

The books "Puppet Wonders of the World" by Livia Kroflin and "Insufficient Space" were also presented.
