Coronation of King Tomislav

This is a unique artistic project marking the 1100th anniversary of the Croatian Kingdom, which connects historical tradition with the universal values of freedom, unity and sovereignty. The author of the libretto is academician and writer Miro Gavran, the music is by composer Darko Domitrović, the author of the arrangement and conductor is Igor Tatarević, while the direction is by the prominent director Robert Raponja. This impressive spectacle brings together more than 90 performers. Top artists and institutions will perform on stage: soloists of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb – Roko Radovan (King Tomislav), Josipa Bilić (Queen Jelena) and Siniša Štork (Bishop Grgur), the Choir of the Croatian National Theatre Mostar under the direction of Katja Krolo Šarac, and the Mostar Symphony Orchestra. In addition to them, the actresses and actors of the Croatian National Theatre in Mostar – Robert Pehar, Ivo Krešić, Nikolina Marić and Mirela Kordić will also participate in the performance as narrators. The costume designer is Jasmina Pacek, and the stage movement was designed by Sanela Janković. “The Coronation of King Tomislav” is not only an artistic event – it is also a strong cultural message that emphasizes the value of togetherness, peace and freedom. The project is led by the Council of the Croatian National Theatre in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the executive producer is the Croatian National Theatre Mostar, and the co-producers are the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb and the Mostar Symphony Orchestra.
