The 11th regional guitar festival "On the way to the south" starts on September 11

This year, the 11th regional guitar festival "On the way to the south", organized by the Music Center
Pavarotti from Mostar, starts on Thursday, September 11th. The famous
music journalist from Belgrade, Petar Janjatović, who will promote his cult book "Ex
Yu Rock encyclopedia 1960 – 2023". This is the fifth, supplemented edition, which, compared to
previously, contains about thirty new encyclopedic units, and represents the basis
professional approach to one of the richest forms of mass culture in this region
over the past sixty years. 
On the same evening, there will be a competition program in which the five finalist bands will perform: Arterije
(Bosanski Brod, Bosnia and Herzegovina), Skeleton Psycho Maniac (Belgrade, SR), Splash (Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina), Tsaritsyn
(Mrkonjić Grad, BiH) and Violetta Peppermint (Rijeka, HR). The jury, which will be chaired by famous people
rock guitarist and composer, Emir Hot, will make the decision on the best band, the best guitarist,
best vocalist, best bass guitarist and best drummer. The main prize is
seven-day recording in Studio "A" of the Pavarotti Music Center, and permanent gift vouchers
sponsor Gitarijada, Music Shop Brothers, for the best musicians. Entrance to the first evening of the Gitariade
is free.
The second evening is entirely dedicated to the renowned Croatian band "Urban & 4", which has already
For many years, he has been delighting the region with his energetic performances and sold-out concerts.
Urban's rich career includes more than a dozen self-titled albums released over the years
works in the "Laufer" group, as well as those published during his independent career. He is the winner of the whole
a number of professional awards in the form of the "Porin", "Crni mačak" and "MTV Gold Award" awards, and
recognitions such as the "City of Rijeka Award" and the "Miroslav Korbler Award" of the Croatian
society of composers. The ticket price for the "Urban & 4" concert is 30 KM, and it will be available for pre-sale from
Tuesday, September 2nd.
On Sunday, September 13, the program of the 11th regional guitar festival "On the Road to the South" will conclude
the legendary frontman of Partibrejkers, Zoran Kostić Cane, with the promotion of his book "Crossed
words". This is Canet's poetic debut, in which "poems shout even when they whisper", and where

"thoughts with sharp edges, both major and minor", as the writer, Ivana, noted in her review
Dimić. Admission to the promotion is free.
The 11th Regional Guitar Festival "On the Way to the South" will be held thanks to the selfless support of regular
