As part of the Mostar Summer 2025 event, and organized by primary and secondary schools from the City of Mostar, the performance Guardians of Sevdah was held.<\/p>

Sevdah is not just a song \u2013 it is a feeling, a story, a memory and the identity of a people. It has been passed down through generations through oral tradition, remaining a living expression of spirituality, love and sorrow. Today, in times of change, preserving sevdah means preserving our culture. This is how the students of Mostar have shown how tradition and youth can walk together. Sevdah connects the past and the present, reminding us who we are and where we come from. Learning and performing sevdalinka among young people is crucial for the preservation of this intangible cultural heritage, because they are the ones who become its future guardians.<\/p>

Edna Isi\u0107 Bali\u0107, project coordinator and principal of the Sixth Primary School in Mostar, emphasized:
"I would like to sincerely thank the Mostar Summer organizing team for giving us the opportunity to participate in this type of project. Until now, it has not been the practice for educators and students to participate, but this year our project Guardians of Sevdah was recognized by the Mostar Summer team."<\/p>

Isi\u0107 Bali\u0107 emphasized that this project was realized by hardworking educators and students, who spent their annual vacation and school holidays preparing a program in honor of sevdah and tradition.<\/p>

"We want our diaspora to feel welcome in their city, to develop in them a sense of belonging and love for their own identity, and to nurture a culture of remembrance in their youngest generations," she added.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
